Topic: Sections, Suggestions (what do you want?)

Hi All. Just wondering are there any sections anyone thinks should be included within the forum that I may have missed? Or - any I've included that may not really be used?

Cheers.

Re: Sections, Suggestions (what do you want?)

Good day, Admin.
I think the site presently has all the essential elements required.
I cold suggest many more interesting additions but there are limits that need to be applied  wink
Besides, my suggestions are catered for on the www. in any case!   roll

No, in all seriousness I think all the presently unused elements will be used in due course.
The site is still developing and will only get better anyway.
Thank you for providing this wonderful forum, it's very welcome.  tongue

Re: Sections, Suggestions (what do you want?)

Just had a thought of another suggestion, Admin.
To deter "bots" and "auto subscribe" applicants from peddling their wares in signatures and favourite sites, is it possible to stipulate that all new applications will only be ratified following a successful post on the "Introduce Yourself" board?
If they can't say "Hello" after, say, 2 wweeks then they risk betting the boot.  hmm

Re: Sections, Suggestions (what do you want?)

Ah, thanks!!

Was wondering who'd be first to suggest a "not fit for work" section......................  smile

Re autosubscribe - What I've being doing is filtering and deleting all non verified members with zero posts. I'll have a look through the settings (when it's not quite so late) and see if I can set up an automatic filter or include something in the joining.

Many thanks - further suggestions welcome.

Re: Sections, Suggestions (what do you want?)

Just so as you know, I skipped lightly home this week with the Section Scrap book  under my arm so I hope to be getting some info about the section set up this weekend. If I am feeling particularly 'wordy' I may put in some trite words around 'welcome to the section, we are nice people to know really, come and see us' ... then again I may not.

Try me best - honest! big_smile

We await your results with baited breath, Baggers.
Well done, top of the class.

Re: Sections, Suggestions (what do you want?)

Two articles have been created. One on the history of the section, one on the history of me! Currently under review by the HonSec.  lol

Re: Sections, Suggestions (what do you want?)

Hi I have sent an email to see if we can get Colin Goode back on. He has been removed once and I think his email must be blocked as he can't reregister. Can you look at this as the same problem will stop Tommy and Colin rejoining us?

Re: Sections, Suggestions (what do you want?)

Go look at the events page. After some spiffing work by Jen it's looking good. Just like me really! cool

Re: Sections, Suggestions (what do you want?)

Absolutely spiffing old chap ....  wink
Just as it should be.
Now all you need for total ease of use is an electronic method to accept payment - PayPal or such?
Nevertheless, very admirable and professional as it stands.

Re: Sections, Suggestions (what do you want?)

Oh - oh.  sad  sad
Seems like Bian307 is a pseudonym and positing advertising on the Introduce Yourself page.  mad
Does anybody actually want a watch, wedding dress or jersey?
I think Baggers would look nice in a new ladies' watch, wedding dress and tank top but don't know about the rest of you!  big_smile  yikes

Re: Sections, Suggestions (what do you want?)

Indeed it looks like it is. I've asked admin person T20C to zap them.

And I wouldn't look that good in the gear - Spike would though  wink

Re: Sections, Suggestions (what do you want?)

Sterling work on the rearguard action against the recent glut of spammers, Andreas - the buggers seem to be breeding!

Re: Sections, Suggestions (what do you want?)

Freewheelin' Franklin has made his statement at a time when a Subscriber List of some 25 contains no less than 5 spurious names.  roll
Methinks that Messrs Jeanmariepeters104, NotQuiteEligible, Verenah785, Vmahoney236 and Whitleyl954 be asked to prove themselves because they seem of dubious provenance.
The buggers, indeed, do seem to be breeding.
The other zero poster, Bill Lincoln, should probably be considered too  smile

I must agree, however, that t20c does an otherwise worthwhile job in keeping the boards clean and deserves some praise in his sterling work.  cool

Re: Sections, Suggestions (what do you want?)

In the news this week was the storey that a new paint treatment for the Forth Bridge will mean it only has to be painted every twenty years, making the phrase 'like painting the Forth Bridge' to describe an unending task, redundant.

I suggest it be replaced with, 'like Andreas removing Spammers'.

Re: Sections, Suggestions (what do you want?)

I have today added an extension to the forum which means one must type the letters shown in a box on registration. hopefully this should reduce the unwanted members.
